It’s 90’s vibes and I watched way too many of my favourite teen movies from this time, so I decided I needed to bring this back. This has been so much fun to create and I wanted to make it a bit more modern by creating a more boxy style and an optional added pocket also.

Construction

The Ringer Tee is worked top down, starting at the back neck and then worked flat to the armholes. The fronts are picked up and joined and worked flat to the armholes, then joined with the back piece in the round down to the hem. From here you can choose to work the neckline or sleeves next, with both options allowing you to pick up and worked in the round. The hems and neckline are seamed to create the retro ‘ringer’ tee effect.

Techniques

Gauge

18 stitches and 23 rows= 4 inches in stockinette stitch, on 5 mm [US 8] needles

Suggested Needles

• 4 mm [US 6] DPNS or circular needles, 16, 32/40 inches / 40, 80/100 cm for the hem and neckline. 
  
  
• 5 mm [US 8] circular needles, 32/40 inches / 80/100cm or size to obtain gauge. (metal needles 32/40 inches)

Sample made in size XS with We Are Knitters (100% Cotton, 212 metres/232 yards, 100g)

You will need 3 (4) 4 (4) 4 (5) 5 (5) 5 skeins for this yarn of the Main Colour, and 1 skein of the Contrasting Colour.
