All my glossier gals, of course I had to wave my fangirl flag and knit up some complimentary accessories to go with all the balms dot com (personal fave is lavender and wild fig)
Construction This pattern is worked in the round with some colour work thrown in. After working to the desired length, you will use elastic to place in the centre and seam around. See a quick overview over on my Instagram
What You'll Need
Suggested Yarn
Fingering weight yarn or DK weight yarn.
I used scraps remaining from my stash in fingering weight, however you can use any weight from Fingering, sport, DK, Worsted. This will make your yarn more 'scrunchie' and larger, however you can cast on more or less stitches to suit what you prefer.

Notes
The colour work pattern is over a 30 stitch pattern. If you want to adjust the 'scrunch' of your scrunchie, cast on a multiple of this stitch.
PATTERN
If you are using fingering/sport weight yarn, use 3.25mm [US 3] - 4mm [US 6], cable length 40-60 cm and cast on 120 stitches.
If you are using DK/Worsted weight yarn use 4mm [US 6] - 4.5mm [US 7], cable length 40-60 cm and cast on 90 stitches.

Rounds 1 and 2: Knit
Now work Rounds 1-24 of the chart.
Rounds 27-28: Knit.
Bind off all your stitches and cut yarn, leaving a long tail.
Optional: You can choose to block your scrunchie here before seaming. It is not necessary but if you wanted to even out any stitches, block here before seaming.
Elastic
Turn the work so that the wrong side is facing out and the right side is facing in. Place the elastic band and around the center of the work and fold the top edge over the bottom edge. Seam the edges around together with your yarn needle using the mattress stitch technique.
Once the entire edge has been sewn, place the elastic towards the seam you just made so most of the colour work faces out.
To finish, weave in any loose ends.
